NORTHERN REGIONAL NPP CHAIRMEN ENDORSE NANA AKUFO-ADDO Ahead of the Special Electoral College of the New Patriotic Party scheduled to take place on August 31 and October 18 presidential primary, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has been assured of receiving all 31 votes of constituency chairmen in the region. The endorsement of Nana Akufo-Addos bid by all 31 chairmen took place at the Radach Memorial Hall in Tamale, when he took his campaign to the Northern Region in his bid to be elected presidential candidate of the Party for the 2016 election. Reading from a prepared statement, the Northern Region Chairpersons Association (NORCA), explained that their decision to declare our unflinching support for Nana Akufo-Addo and back no one but Nana Akufo-Addo was borne out of the fact that he is the best candidate to wrestle power from the ruling National Democratic Congress. According Mr. Fuseini Nurudeen, Chairman of the Nalerigu Constituency, who read the statement on behalf of the group, Nana Akufo-Addo has undergone so many trials and proven to be a true Party faithful over the years. They further indicated that Akufo-Addo has been loyal and faithful to the NPP and all of its functionaries even in hard times. He has never dreamt of leaving the Party for any reason be it good or adverse. He has proven to all and sundry that Ghana matters more than any other individual, as the Supreme Court verdict is a critical example, they ended. Additionally, they explained that their decision was taken due to widespread consultations they had with their grassroots who want nobody but Nana Akufo-Addo to lead the party to victory in 2016. The Chairpersons who signed the declaration sheet were from the following 31 constituencies in the Northern Region: Tamale South, Tamale Central, Bimbilla, Yendi, Nalerigu, Walewale, Sagnarigu, Tolon, Yapei-Kusawgu, Kpandai, Gushiegu, Savelugu, Salaga South, Sawla-Tuna-Kalba, Kumbungu, Karaga and Tamale North, Wulensi, Bunkpurugu, Bole/Bamboi, Mion, Saboba, Zabzugu, Tatale, Chereponi, Nanton, Damango, Daboya, Yagaba-Kubori, Yunyoo, and Salaga North. Thus far, the total number of votes pledged by delegates in the Upper East and Northern Regions to Nana Akufo-Addo ahead of the Special Electoral College, currently stands at 105 - 68 delegates from Northern Region and 37 delegates from the Upper East Region.
