Right on; but err, this extraction method also brings up unexpected amounts of methane, a devastating greenhouse gas that we all know too well. Next: US claim that its carbon dioxide output into the atmosphere is falling. Do the figures with Duncan Clark at the Guardian and discover that “there has been no decline in the amount of carbon the US is taking out of the ground. In fact, the trend is upwards." It’s just that some of it, coal in particular, is exported abroad to be burned there. "The latest year for which full data is available, 2011, is the highest level on record.” Right-o-right.
