NOT OVER YET Oct 22 2014 Yesterday in hospital was exhausting and dispiriting. Apart from a raft and relatively minor symptoms in the grand scheme of things, I have a bad case of post radiation fatigue; no surprise to my oncologist that it is getting worse before it gets better. Well documented post reaction to radiation. It is quite extraordinary, all I do is sleep and graze on an occasional snack. 15 hours of sleep last night, and I think I will be going back to nap soon after breakfast. Due to out of the breast area potential complications, I will not get a prognosis till May 2015 when scans of all parts of my body are repeated and infusions complete. The journey is far from over yet. My oncologist said that this intense fatigue should only last another couple of weeks and by Thanksgiving I will feel closer to normal. Because of my current condition, hormone therapy is thankfully delayed until the New Year and my oncologist is looking into a new phase 3 clinical trial for immunotherapy at MD Anderson which should start soon, which has my name all over it. The problem will be getting accepted into the clinical trial.
