NOTE OF THANKS!!! to all those Chatter friends who braved the cold and the traffic last night to come see my exhibit at The Nutmeg Conservatory for the Arts last night. When I first started sharing my photos from weekend drives here, you were all the ones who encouraged me to take more and to keep posting. Then the requests for a show, and last night that dream - born here - came true! It was SO nice to meet many of you in person! Very special thanks to Joseph Timothy Quirk for his unpaid and much appreciated promotion for me personally, for The Nutmeg and the event. Despite his OWN artistic endeavor at The Goshen Playhouse that evening, he took the time to stop by and assure all was well for the opening. He has written for the event, arranged a radio spot and helped in a million little ways - all from the kindness of his heart and his beautiful spirit of community. He truly loves our town and has helped so many people and businesses grow thanks to his efforts and talent. Hes a very special person and Torrington is lucky to have him be a part of our community. Special thanks also go to Dan, owner of Scarpellis Family Restaurant for the beautiful and generous cheese and cracker platter, plates, napkins, etc. Please be sure to support his fine family business as he takes the time and effort to support his hometown so much. Of course, the night would never have happened without the fine folks and my hosts at our very own historical and world-famous Nutmeg Ballet Conservatory, Holly Watson and the legendary Sharon E. Dante. Sharons dedication to the arts and support for local artists like myself is something very special we have here in Torrington. Sharon, too, took the time to leave a personal event to come to the exhibit and say hello to everyone. What an inspiring and wonderful community supporter she is. Last night while dancers practiced for the famous Nutcracker, The HUB had a live performance, my exhibit was happening AND there were several other plays and live music events happening in our amazing hometown. After the exhibit, a lot of my old THS friends and I went to The Backstage for dinner and drinks. One stayed at The Pedlar, which was also packed. It was so nice to see our little city so exciting to others. Some of my favorite quotes heard last night were; Wow - I havent been back to Torrington in years - downtown is really BUSTLING! Downtown is so ALIVE tonight! Look at all the people! Main Street feels like the big city this evening! It was worth the walk to park, we got to see so much happening! I hope I havent forgotten anyone. I am so grateful for last night and I look forward to taking more photos of our Litchfield Hills for the world to see what a special place we live in!
