NOTHING CHANGES Some customs never go away. They reappear in other forms. Evil will always be in play. It manifests in human storms. Why would a God take great delight When human life is sacrificed? The priesthood offered no insight. They thought that spilling blood sufficed To make sure God would guarantee That there would be prosperity. Religions probably evolved. The priests no longer wield the knife. But many problems were not solved. Man wanted to take human life. The killer urge needed relief. It was considered right to kill All those, who held the wrong belief. It was fulfilment of God’s will. We stopped all death on temple floors. Instead we fought in holy wars. No evolution would take place, But labels have not stayed the same. We’re still the same old human race. We are devoid of guilt and shame As long as what we do is blest. Then good and evil are the same. You’ll be just fine, and damn the rest. Just look around and you will see A planet drowned in misery
