NOVEMBER 3 MEXICAN DAY OF THE DEAD FAMILY FESTIVAL Sunday, November 3, 2013 10 AM - 4 PM The Bowers Museum offers free admission to the museum on the first Sunday of every month. A COMMUNITY OFRENDA will be on display in the Bowers Museum Lobby. Bring a picture of your loved ones to be remembered in this beautiful display. JOHN M. LEE COURT 11:00 am – 3:30 pm Display of art created by participants in the Bowers’ Treasures program for seniors in the community. Funded by the James Irvine Foundation. Joel Aceves, classical guitarist, plays the romantic music of Latin America MARGARET AND CLEO KEY COURTYARD 11:00 am – 4:00 pm Face painting, Sugar Skull decorating, Calavera magnets and Muertos art projects NOON Los Soñadores Folklorico 1:00 pm Intermission 1:30 pm OC Mariachi with the Mariachi Kids 2:00 pm Los Monijotes de los Catrines 2:45 pm Xipe Totec, Danza Azteca Tickets can be picked up in the North Wing. Free admission is also included to Bowers Museum permanent exhibitions including: Sacred Realms: Temple Murals by Shashi Dhoj Tulachand; Spirits and Headhunters: Art of the Pacific Islands;California Legacies: Missions and Ranchos; Vision of the Shaman, Song of the Priest; California: The Golden Years; Ancient Arts of China.
