NOW NOVEMBER 15, 2013 Miqati calls for removing illegal buildings BEIRUT - Caretaker Prime Minister Najib Miqati on Friday called for firmness in dealing with building violations all over the country, the National News Agency reported. Miqati assigned Acting Internal Security Forces chief Brigadier General Ibrahim Basbous to “immediately stop all the illegal construction works… and conduct a comprehensive inventory for these violations and for their nature in all Lebanese areas.” The caretaker premier gave a deadline of two weeks for the implementation of his order, ordering the removal of illegal buildings to be achieved. “A number of municipalities gave building permits in contravention of the laws in force... causing chaos and a spread of illegal buildings that do not take into account the conditions of public safety and property rights,” the circular issued by Miqati read. https://now.mmedia.me/lb/en/lebanonnews/520868-miqati-calls-for-removing-illegal-buildings
