NSU welcomes Bravo Brass Quintet - Jan. 23 Northeastern State University welcomes the Bravo Brass Quintet Jan. 23 as part of the Sequoyah Institute’s Galaxy of Stars 2013-14 series. A dynamic chamber ensemble composed of the full-time, professional brass musicians of the Tulsa Symphony, the Bravo Brass Quintet will perform at 7:30 p.m. at the NSU Center for the Performing Arts located on the Tahlequah campus. This quintet was put together in 1993 and consists of two trumpets, one horn, one trombone and one tuba. The Bravo Brass performed in over 30 concerts in their debut season. In addition to regular concert performances, members are active music educators, teaching privately and serving on university faculties. Bravo Brass will perform something for everyone with a full range of musical styles including baroque, light classics, jazz, contemporary and Broadway. In addition, their concert is peppered with music history, humor and audience/performer interaction. The opportunity to hear and learn from the Bravo Brass Quintet is not simply limited to their performance that evening. Area school children have been invited to go “Beyond the Stage” for a matinee performance at 1 p.m. at the NSU Center for the Performing Arts.
