NSW Treasurer Andrew Constance says three years of belt-tightening and fiscal discipline have put the state in a strong position. But he has warned Commonwealth cuts to health funding would not be sustainable in the long-term, predicting a gap of $16 billion in 2050. Mr Constance has announced a budget deficit of $283 million for the 2014-15 financial year due to the Commonwealth bringing forward more than $700 million in funding for Pacific Highway upgrades.
