#NSW #nswfires #Bushfire #Community #Message #Corp By: NSW Rural Fire Service There is a fire burning on the south west shores of Durras Lake in Murramarang National Park on the NSW south coast. Known as the “Benandarah Creek” fire, it is currently 20ha and burning on a peninsula that juts out into the lake. NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service crews, supported by aircraft and heavy plant are working on controlling the fires spread on the isolated peninsula. Whilst there is no immediate threat, residents should keep themselves informed (rfs.nsw.gov.au) and be aware that there may be significant amounts of smoke in the vicinity. A southerly change is expected later today which will then push the smoke in a northerly direction.
