NUNAWADING SPECTRES MEDIA RELEASE The Nunawading Spectres are excited to announce that Michael Battle has been appointed as the Head Coach of the Victorian Youth Championship Men and Michael Brookens has been reappointed as Head Coach of the Victorian Youth Championship Women for 2014. The Spectres welcome back Michael Battle to the club in 2014 after a successful coaching career with the junior program from 2007 to 2010 where he took the Under 18 2nd team to a classic bid in 2008 before taking over the head coaching role for 2009-2010 performing well in both years. During Michael’s term at Nunawading he was Assistant Coach of the DLeague Men from 2008-2010 and was part of the 2010 Championship winning team. Michael also assisted the Dandenong Rangers DLEAGUE Men in 2012 to a second Championship. In 2013 Michael was Assistant Coach of the Blackburn Vikings Division 1 BigV Men. 2014 will be Michael’s [Brookens] second year as Head Coach of the VYC Women following a solid 2013 season finishing 3rd in the conference before going down narrowly to Ringwood in the playoffs. Michael is a well-credentialed coach having previously assisted at SEABL level with success. Michael brings a high level of enthusiasm and passion to his coaching and the program expects strong progression from the team in 2014. The Nunawading Spectres Senior Committee would like to all applicants and wish both coaches the best of luck for 2014.
