NUST ENTRANCE TEST 2014 : This year NUST decided to give three chances to students before applying for admissions in NUST. There are some questions which students keep on asking about NET 2014, in this post I would try to answer all those questions. The paper based test will be conducted only once in June-July, however there will be three sessions for the computer based tests. The expected dates of the three tests (NET) are as follows: NET 1 : Registration starts in end of November 2013 Test will take place in December 2013 NET 2 : Registration starts in March 2014 Test will take place in April-May 2014 NET 3 : Registration starts in May 2014 Test will take place in June-July 2014 REGISTRATION FOR NUST ENTRANCE TEST: The registration process will be online. You have to make an account on the website https://ugadmissions.nust.edu.pk/ when the registrations will start and fill in the form. ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR NUST ADMISSIONS: Eligibility criteria is strictly followed for admission in NUST. 1) A minimum of 60% aggregate marks each in Matric and FSc / FA / equivalent exams is required. 2)O & A level and other non-FSc stream candidates need to obtain equivalence certificates from Inter Board Committee of Chairmen (IBCC), Pakistan. Candidates with any of the following deficiencies are NOT eligible to apply for admission in UG programmes: 1) Having secured less than 60% marks in Matric and FA / FSc . 2) Having failed / not appeared in any subject in FA / FSc Part-I / II. 3) In case of O & A level / equivalent foreign qualification, those not in possession of valid O level or equivalent qualification certificate issued by IBCC at the time of applying to NUST. 4) Female candidates are not eligible to apply for Aerospace, Avionics and Civil Engineering at Risalpur campuses. 5) Diploma holders are not eligible to apply for any undergraduate programs . MARKS WEIGHTAGE IN EACH SUBJECT: Engineering: Mathematics 40% ( 80 mcqs ) Physics 30% ( 60 mcqs ) Chemistry 15% ( 30 mcqs ) English 10% ( 20 mcqs ) Intelligence 5% ( 10 mcqs ) Total MCQs = 200 Time allotted = 3 hours. Computer Science: Mathematics 40% ( 80 mcqs ) Physics 30% ( 60 mcqs ) Computer Science 15% ( 30 mcqs ) English 10% ( 20 mcqs ) Intelligence 5% ( 10 mcqs ) Total MCQs = 200 Time allotted = 3 hours. MBBS / BDS / BS Applied Biosciences: Biology 40% ( 80 mcqs ) Chemistry 30% ( 60 mcqs ) Physics 15% ( 30 mcqs ) English 10% ( 20 mcqs ) Intelligence 5% ( 10 mcqs ) Total MCQs = 200 Time allotted = 3 hours. Business Studies / Social Sciences: Verbal (English) 40% ( 80 mcqs ) Quantitative (Mathematics) 40% ( 80 mcqs ) Intelligence 20% ( 40 mcqs ) Total MCQs = 200 Time allotted = 3 hours. Bachelor of Architecture (B Arch) / Bachelor of Industrial Design (BID): Cognitive and Aptitude 40% Mathematics 20% ( 40 mcqs ) English Comprehension 20% ( 40 mcqs ) Physics 15% ( 30 mcqs ) Intelligence 5% ( 10 mcqs ) Time alloted = 4 hours ( 2 hours for cognitive/aptitude portion and 2 hours for the rest ) Cognitive and aptitude portion will be in written form, the rest will be the Mcqs based. Total MCQs = 120 BS Mathematics: Mathematics 85% ( 170 mcqs ) English 10% ( 20 mcqs ) Intelligence 5% ( 10 mcqs ) Total MCQs = 200 Time allotted = 3 hours. Note: Intelligence questions will pertain to Arithmetical Reasoning, Critical Thinking, Analytical Approach and Problem Solving.
