NWS Saturday, January 03, 2015 9:29 PM Experimental Hazardous Weather Outlook Highlights Snow and blowing snow will continue to develop through the tonight, with the changeover occurring from northwest to southeast. Bitterly cold airmass pushes in from the northwest, plunging temperatures into the single digits and teens Strong northwesterly winds will create 25 to 35 mph wind gusts and combined with the cold temperatures, will cause wind chill values to drop below zero by Sunday morning Any spots that remain wet from this evening’s precipitation could quickly freeze over as the colder air moves in, creating a black ice concern Precipitation: •Precipitation Type – Changing to snow from NW to SE through this evening •Location – Highest amounts have shifted across the northern tier of KS and MO. •Accumulation – Widespread 1”-2” across the north, lower amounts further south. •Temperatures – Dropping into the single digits and teens overnight Winds Values ranging from near zero across central MO to around -20° in northwestern MO
