NYANZA comes to a stop as KIDERO’s 100 car-convoy enters region as he promises to deliver LUOs out of the chains of POVERTY Nairobi Governor, Dr Evans Kidero’s convoy took Nyanza by storm yesterday with local leaders joining this young energetic emerging Luo leader along the busy Kisii-Migori route where he addressed massively attended rallies and sensationally said he will pull out all Luos from the bondage of poverty which has been affecting them since independence. Speaking during a stopover in Kisii - Migori highway on Friday, Kidero who was in a convoy of more than 100 cars said he will initiate development programmes in the area that will see to it that every Luo has something to put on the table. Kidero also thanked the residents for the support they have given leaders and promised to help Nyanza develop like Central Kenya. “I am one of your sons. You gave me a job to do in Nairobi, but I have come home to share the small meal that I get from Nairobi with you,” Kidero said. Kidero said he will work with all elected leaders in Migori, Siaya, Homabay and Kisumu Counties to reduce levels of poverty in the area which has reached unprecedented levels. He also urged residents to stop petty politics and embrace development. “We cannot gamble with the future of our children through petty politics. We want development in Nyanza,” Kidero said.
