NYC Environmental Protection – Paid Graduate Archives Intern - TopicsExpress

NYC Environmental Protection – Paid Graduate Archives Intern (College Aide) Repository Description: The DEP Archives collects, preserves, and makes available records having long-term business and historical value to DEP and NYC. The records document the development and operation of New York City’s immense water supply and distribution system. Not only are these records historically important to engineering, science, and New York City, but they are also critical to the continuing operation of the NYC water supply system. In addition to engineering records, DEP Archives also has real property records and administrative records with broader scope from the NYC Environmental Protection Administration (1968-1977) and the Department of Environmental Protection (1977-present). This is a great opportunity to work with vitally important archival records and to gain real-world knowledge of managing records in local government. Internship Description: The selected candidates will work with the Records and Archives Management team to inventory records produced by DEP and our predecessor agencies. These records may include reports, drawings, photographs, and textual records.
