NYS championship preview! #2 LV Green Machine VS #1 LV Ravens – CADET DIVISION Where: Legacy HS When: 10:00 AM Game #2 on Championship Saturday looks to be one of the most interesting and entertaining matchups of the day as the Las Vegas Ravens and Las Vegas Green Machine square off with their eyes set on the grand prize of a Nevada State Championship. The #2 seed Las Vegas Green Machine stumbled more than expected this year during the regular season than many thought the defending champions would. Regular season overtime losses to the BG Gators and Las Vegas Ravens highlighted a tough 3 loss regular season for the Green Machine. That being said, these Green Machine players led by Head Coach Randy Alvarez showed a lot of resilience in bouncing back strong in the 2nd half of the season. They returned the favor to the Gators last weekend in the semifinals with a one point victory that catapulted them into a championship showdown with the Ravens. The Green Machine’s three headed monster led by MVP Candidate Elijah Alvarez, Terrence Henderson, and Kadeion Payne needs to come together like King Ghidorah and rein touchdowns on the Ravens defense. Looking to play the role of Godzilla in this game however is the Las Vegas Ravens. The Ravens have been the “king of the monsters” thus far in the Cadet Division having taken down all foes through 9 games this season! Do the Ravens have one more win in them here in the Nevada State Championship Game? A lot of that will come down to their two MVP Candidates play as Brandon Furey and Kenyatta Larry lead the Ravens onto the field at Legacy High School. The Ravens hold two victories over the Green Machine thus far, but both teams have plenty of tricks hidden up their sleeves. With a powerful offense that averaged 28 points per game, the Ravens were a team on a mission all season long. Expect nothing less than an all-out effort from both squads as it’s all on the line here in what is sure to be a thriller of monstrous proportions at Legacy High School that will shake the ground from Nevada to San Diego!
