NaMos decision of removing price control over medicine is wrong. SOLUTION? Right to Recall Minister in-charge of Chemical and Fertilizer, who controls the medicine prices. . On around 25-sep-2014, NaMo ordered Minister of Chemical and Fertilizers Anant Kumar to order NPPA = National Pharma Price Authority to cancel the price caps on medicine. This may (may may may may) double or tripple the price. Pls note my use of word may several times as I am not 100% sure what the future outcome may be. Bit if the prices rise, then obviously patients will be adversely hurt. Most expensive medicines are made in USA or Japan or Sweden or UK. Of even if made in India, then the main patent holder is a videshi and that videshi gets much of the profits. The videshi has right to take profit outside India, and that will deplete forex. So biggest beneficiary of this price cap removal are foreign companies and this may hurt forex situation along with patients. . Worse, the poor and middle class which cant afford the new double or triple prices will queue before missionaries. IOW, NaMos decision to remove price cap may further increase conversions, . . Sonia, Congress and all BJP leaders have welcomed this price increase. AAP and AK have opposed the solution to this price rise, namely RTR Chemcial Minister and thus they too have indirectly supported this price rise. None of the 4 AAP MPs have proposed any private members bill to print laws to fix the mess. Their excuse is --- we will fix the mess after voters give us 273 Loksabha seats !! Gee man, if that was the case, why did AAP contest may-2014 elections to begin with? . The poor are facing double whammy. CoBhAp = Congress, BJP and AAP, one and the same, oppose law-drafts needed to reduce use of chemical pesticides etc and fruit ripening chemicals in agriculture. So cancer, diabetis etc are multiplying like epidemic. Maneka Gandhi, SoMoKe, CoBhAp etc oppose law-drafts to kill rabid dogs. So cases of dogbites are increases, And Maneka, SoMoKe, CoBhAp oppose price caps on rabies medicine. So now prices of rabies medicine may increase !! IOW, poor get hit from sides. . Solution I propose are . 1. The short term solution is to revive NPPA and price caps. The voters should order their MP via SMS containing url pointing to Right to Recall Minister law-draft. The long term solution is to print law-draft in Gazette that will increase competitiveness in India pharma companies. These law-drafts are JurySys, TCP, DDMRCAM, RTR, wealth tax. removing vat, removing service tax, removing central sales tax, removing gst, removing excise, make TDS/PF/Insurance etc responsibility of employee and employer, flattening income tax, removing plethora of exemptions in income tax , law drafts to increase competitiveness such as self-abolition of cross ownership and so forth.
