Germany (Bundesliga) The story of Chinedu Obasi this season appears to be one written in the stars. The 27-year-old was plagued by injuries earlier in the campaign and even when he made a complete recovery, the Schalke manager, Jens Keller elected to ease him in slowly. It proved to be a masterstroke as Obasi is now at the peak of his powers. The winger delivered a man-of-the-match performance at the weekend as he scored once and provided the assist for another as Schalke beat Hertha Berlin 2-0 at the Veltins Arena. Obasi has now scored two league goals this season. Italy (Serie B) Nnamdi Oduamadi was part of the action for 76 minutes before his place was taken by Luca Forte as Varese lost 1-2 to Palermo the Stadio Franco Ossola. Serie A Victor Obinna was on for 63 minutes as he finally made way for Cyril Théréau in Chievo Verona’s 0-3 loss to Milan at San Siro. Joel Obi was an unused substitute for AC Parma in the loss to SS Lazio at the Stadio Olimpico. Ogenyi Onazi played all 90 minutes for Lazio in the 3-2 win. Russia (Premier League) Fegor Ogude has been impressive since he joined Amkar Perm in January. He played all 90 minutes as Amkar lost 1-2 to Zenith St. Petersburg at Stadion Zvezda. Scotland (Premiership) Efe Ambrose played all 90 minutes for Celtic in the Hoops’ 1-1 draw against Ross County at Celtic Park. Spain (Primera Lig) Ramon Azeez took the place of Miguel “Corona” Angel on 82 minutes as Almeria lost 0-1 Real Valladolid at Estadio Municipal José Zorrilla. Ikechukwu Uche replaced Jonathan Pereira with 20 minutes remaining as Villarreal drew 1-1 against relegation-threatened Elche at Camp El Madrigal. Turkey (Super Lig) Michael Eneramo scored the only goal of the game at the death as Karabukspor beat Besiktas 1-0 at the Dr. Necmettin Seyhoglu Stadi. John Utaka is proving to be evergreen and bagged a brace - the second, the winner - in Sivasspor’s dramatic 3-2 win over Gaziantepspor at 4. Eylül Stadyumu. Godfrey Oboabona was not listed for Caykur Rizespor in the club’s 3-2 win over Akhisar Belediyespor at 19 Mayis Stadyumu. Ukraine (Premier League) Brown Ideye was on from start to finish in Dynamo Kyiv’s 0-2 loss to Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk at Dnipro Arena. Lukman Haruna was an unused substitute in the game.
