Nakuru Prepares Elaborate Welcome For Deputy President Rutos Visit This Weekend By Elijah Kinyanjui September 25 2014 The coming weekend is scheduled to be a busy one for the Nakuru County top leadership which today met to refine preparations to receive Deputy President William Ruto wholl tour parts of the county from Saturday to Sunday. Led by Governor Kinuthia Mbugua, top local leaders met this evening at the ACK Imani Guest House in Nakuru town where they met to prepare how to receive Ruto and consolidate issues they want addressed by the national government that Ruto will be asked to straighten plus security and mobilisation arrangements. Those present confirmed that Ruto will start his tour by visiting Nakuru Town West whose MP is Samuel Arama of ODM. Tentatively, the DP will start with attending a fundsdrive at the Angaza SDA church at Kaptembwa and later at noon conduct a similar function at the Kapkures Catholic church in the Mogoon area after which hell proceed to Solai for a function hosted by area MCA Paul Chebor. The itinerary will see the DP then attend a wedding in Muranga County before coming back to Nakuru Town East constituency on Sunday when hell commission a health facility at Mzee WA Nyama area where hes been invited by area MP David Gikaria. After that the DP will.attend a church service at St Joseph the Worker in Racecourse estate in Nakuru town where hell also raise funds before concluding his busy weekend by attending a women harambee at the Menengai Social Hall in Nakuru town. In between the tour the DP is scheduled to hold a leaders meeting whos final details are yet to be disclosed. The preparatory meeting this evening was attended by nominated Senator Liza Chelule with Senator James Mungai being represented by his County Office Manager Joseph Omondi and County Secretary Joseph Motari. Also present was Nakuru County Commissioner Mohammed Birik, Deputy Governor Joseph Ruttoh, Arama and Gikaria, Molo MP Jacob Macharia, his Njoro counterpart Joseph Kiuna plus Naivasha MP John Kihagi and Joseph Mathenge of Gilgil. Others in attendance were Maendeleo Ya Wanawake Nakuru County Chair Keziah Ngina, Lands Minister Rachael Maina and her Environment, Water and Energy counterpart Richard Rop plus recently appointed Health Minister Dr Kabii Mungai and Chief Health Officer Dr Samuel Mwaura and his Roads equivalent Stephen Mwaura. MCAs present were Chebor, Flamingos Moses Gichangi, Peter Mwanjo Muchiri of Subukia, Catherine Waweru nominated, Francis Njoroge of London Ward and Korir Langat of Kapkures. The leaders inter-alia unanimously resolved to.tell the DP that Nakuru is a No-Referendum zone.
