Namaste, Launch of Katti Narahari Academy of Jyotish Studies - An Update 1. My very first independent Jyotish conference was held in Dec 7th 2014 at Bangalore. 2. The Event started by the traditional lighting of the lamp by my Jyotish Guru Seshagiri Katti accompanied by an excellent Ganesh Mantras rendition by Shiva Shankar 3. Seshagiri Katti gave a very thought provoking welcome address on the basic qualifications of a jyotish. He stressed on studying apart from other branches of jyotish, reading the mind or being an expert manas sastra as the jyotish science is based on Prakruti Swabhava and each persons nature is different. 4. The conference started with a prayer to goddess Saraswati. 5. I taught for 8 hours on the topic of Sambandha and Vivaha. 6. Some of the topics covered were basics of Argala and its usage, the topics included 1. Argalā - Concepts 2. Argalā - Usage 3. Assignment - Application of Argalā 4. Karakas - An introduction 5. Karaka - Usage 6. Sukra Significations 7. Karaka Judgement Secrets - 1 8. Karaka Judgement Secrets - 2 9. Assignment 10. Judging the Strength of Karaka 11. Planets in the 7th house 12. Sukra and Dristi 13. 7th lord and its relationship with dwadasa bhavas 14. Structured Methodology - A ready Reckoner 15. Matters related to spouse 16. Arudha and calculations 17. Upapada (UL) 18. Upapada - Length of marriage 19. Upapada - Multiple marriages 20. Upapada - Multiple concurrent marriages 21. Homework 22. Case Studies - To be done during the conference by each participant 23. Upapada - Difficult dictums from Jaimini 24. Timing Marriage - Part 1 25. Timing marriage - Part 2 and many other topics The event was 8+ hours long and was recorded both video and audio. Of course, with a lot of pictures! :) I thank Murali Parameswaran my current jyotish and ex- SAP student for excellent planning all arrangements and logistics. I will for the next few weeks continue to teach the above topics with more case studies in detail over Skype for my students. The classes over Skype will be held every Sunday.
