Namport boat sinks in Walvis Bay Namibian Ports Authority (Namport) says one of its tag boats sank on Tuesday evening in the port of Walvis Bay after experiencing some mechanical fault. However, no causalities have been reported. Namport chief executive Bisey Uirab said despite the implementation of emergency measures, it was to no avail. “The boat sank next to the Merlus jetty at approximately 2300 hours, which is where she remains,” Uirab said.
