Nancy Grachek Hodges This morning I ask for prayers for the town of Washington, IL and surrounding cities which have experienced the devastation of a tornado. Our family and friends have been affected by this storm and lives have been disrupted. Please pray... Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God. For just as we share abundantly in the sufferings of Christ, so also our comfort abounds through Christ.” 2 Corinthians 1:3-5 NIV In moments of uncertainty, God reminds us we are being held by Him. He strengthens the heart of wonder and guides us where we recognize His presence in our days. In the midst of tragedy and despair, God pulls us from the rubble. He cradles us in care and guides where strength is found in the depth of His holiness. Some will say, “Where were you God, when the storms of life came crashing down and crushed the soul of strength? In moments to remind us, God will demonstrate the power of His love. He will provide the way for hope to dwell in the strength of our faithfulness, and arm us with everything we need to find comfort in Him. God will guide the hands of those who draw strength from one another. He will help us remember we are being led. God will bless the efforts of those who learn to trust. And, in precious moments to draw closer to a prayer of praise, He WILL provide the way to recover. Dear God, Thank you for mercy and grace. You cover us with the blanket of Your love and cradle us in Your care. Help us remember the world will change, but You will not. You are our mighty Comforter. Fill us with the power of Your strength and lead us where we will always remember we do not have to suffer alone. Amen
