Nani was trying to catch up on sleep from her insomnia last night. Shes eating & drinking well today which is great. She needs to gain a little weight and make sure shes taking in enough fluids. Her blood pressure was a bit high today 138/90 and they dont want it above 120/80 and prefer closer to 100/70. The higher it is, the more pressure on her heart and we definitely do not want that. Shes been down & upset today also which may contribute to her BP. Youd think by now we would know to not expect much as far as timeframes for going home. Usually they give us a date and we anticipate a day or two more. Well, we were told that it would be this weekend. That was completely wrong. She will be here at least 9 more days! đ We also asked to be transferred back to Greenville hospital so that we could be closer to home(50 mins versus 4 hours). They said that insurance will not pay for the transfer back and we would have to pay out of pocket. Its incredibly frustrating to be in this position. Shes much more comfortable over there and also, she was told thats what would happen once she was out of ICU. She feels let down and it makes her like this place even less. The staff is amazing but we dont know them. In Greenville, they are family already. They know her and their level of attention is higher than here in the step down unit. Basically, shes been spoiled..lol! So now we wait....
