Nantahala and West Macon Fire Departments are at a fully involved structure fire at 600 Briartown Church Road. Two ambulances (Medic 5 from the Nanatahala EMS Base and Medic 12 from the Franklin EMS Base) have responded to this call, one for a 9 year old child who has suffered burns and another for a reported trapped victim, reported to be the father of the burned child. MAMA-2 is responding to medevac the burn victim from Nantahala School and MAMA-1 is on standby for the second victim. No one on scene has been able to confirm if that person is trapped at this time due to the chaotic nature of the scene. Nantahala tones have been set again for more manpower at the scene. This call was originally dispatched at about 12:51 am #WNCscan time posted >> 1:29 am radio traffic >> broadcastify/listen/feed/13972 Please keep those involved (victims and those responding) in your thoughts and prayers. **1:30 am** MAMA-2 is in the air, with an ETA of 8 to 9 minutes to Nantahala School. **1:34 am** Medic 5 has requested Medic 12 to respond emergency traffic to Nantahala School. There is a second victim, a male who is suffering from smoke inhalation and burns. **1:38 am** Briartown Church Command has requested an investigator to respond to the scene. They have located a deceased individual inside the residence. MCSO #5740 is responding. **1:40 am** MAMA-2 is landing at the school. Medic 5 has requested an ambulance from Cherokee County respond to the scene. **1:43 am** Medic 5 has asked if the EMS Director #101) or the Emergency Management Director (#1000) are enroute to the scene. **1:44 am** The EOC says they are aware of the call but not responding. Medic 5 has asked for one of them to respond, he has use for them on scene. **1:46 am** #1000 (the Emergency Management Director) is enroute to the scene.
