Narendra Dabholkar was a crusader and social activist fighting against superstitious beliefs through his organization Maharashtra Andhashradha Nirmoolan Samiti. A qualified MBBS doctor, Dabholkar practiced as a physician for more than a decade before embarking on a journey no one had an idea would end up this way. A bit of superstition has always been prevalent in our lives. We are asked not to cross the road if a cat walks across or not to call someone behind the back before they are leaving home(a common practice among Bengalis), but we need to understand that the roots of superstition are deeply embedded in our religions and astrological prophecies.
