Nassau County CHADD Please join us at our first meeting of the 2013-2014 season at 8:30 PM on September 23, 2013. The workshop topic is: “Overcoming Obstacles: Life After Your Diagnosis” presented by Rachel Priest, MS, Community Outreach Specialist at the Mental Health Association of Nassau County This workshop will center on not letting a diagnosis or disorder hold you back in the world. Receiving a diagnosis of AD/HD can change your life for the better. With your diagnosis comes hope. You will hear how to become comfortable with your diagnosis, and how to have open and honest communication with family members, friends and service providers. Learn how to stop seeing yourself (or your child) as a diagnosis rather than as a unique person with strengths and weaknesses. AD/HD is a part of you, but it is not what defines you. As always support groups are in session prior to the workshop from 7:30-8:30 PM. We look forward to seeing you soon. Check out our website for additional meeting information.
