Nathaniel spent the weekend alone with us, his parents. We had planned to get out and go somewhere this weekend, mainly just to get a few things done. Nathaniels sister, Cecilia, was away with relatives, having a good time, so it seemed like an excellent opportunity for us to accomplish some things. This didnt end up happening. Nathaniels temperature had started rising and going back down on Thursday night, but it never quite reached fever range. His oncologist and medical staff checked him out on Friday morning and said that he still had the same rhinovirus hed had for the previous week or so. We decided to stick around the area so that we would be near the hospital if he developed a high fever or some new symptoms. Nathaniel just wasnt himself on Saturday. He didnt have much of an appetite and, when he did eat, didnt seem to be able to hold his food down long after eating. He also seemed fussier than usual throughout the weekend. We wondered if some of what was going on might be due to the radiation or side-effects of the sedation that occurs with each radiation. The good thing is that he seemed to be feeling better today. He now has four days of radiation behind him, meaning he is halfway done. Friday will be his last day for radiation and then hell start with something else. Cecilia reunited with the rest of us in the family today. Nathaniel seemed happy. He clearly missed her and is glad to have her back as are the rest of us. Please pray for Nathaniels health and that the rhinovirus and leukemia both leave his body. Please pray that all of his treatment goes as well as planned and accomplishes its goals of eliminating the leukemia from his body. Thank you!
