National Academy of Music Student makes it to Stardom! Donna Grantis, former Guitar Student of our Mississauga Music School: “National Academy of Music” is living the dream; touring the world as the Guitar Player for the Musical Super Star “Prince” Prince has produced ten platinum albums and thirty Top 40 singles during his career. He has sold over 100 million records worldwide, making him one of the best-selling artists of all time. He has won seven Grammy Awards, a Golden Globe, and an Academy Award. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2004, the first year he was eligible. Rolling Stone has ranked Prince No. 27 on its list of the 100 Greatest Artists of All Time. Prince performed at the Super Bowl XLI halftime show in Miami, Florida in 2007. The performance consisted of Purple Rain tracks. The event was carried to 140 million television viewers. On February 4, 2010, Billboard ranked the performance as the greatest Super Bowl performance ever. Donna joined Prince’s four piece musical act Nov. 2012. Donna attended weekly Guitar Lessons at National Academy of Music for over three years. She recently performed with Prince on the popular Television show SNL as well as “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon” Donna has recently performed with Prince in Countries such as: Switzerland, Sweden, Denmark, Holland, Portugal, Curacao, USA, & Canada.
