National Forecast from Latest Met Éireann. 04 September 2013 08:53 Today Very mild again today with a mixture of sunny spells and cloudy periods. Mainly dry in eastern areas, apart from an odd shower, but a spell of rain will push onto the west coast. This rain will become widespread over Connacht, much of west Munster and Donegal this afternoon and evening. Highs today 17 to 22 C., warmest in the east. Winds will be moderate to fresh southerly. Tonight Rain and drizzle will extend to remaining areas early tonight, but will tend to become light and patchy. Some fog patches are possible locally also. Drier, clearer, weather, with isolated showers, will spread from the Atlantic later tonight. Lowest temperatures of 7 to 12 C., coldest in western areas. Tomorrow A fresh, cool day for Thursday, with top temperatures down significantly on recent values … ranging just 13 to 17 C., in mainly moderate northwesterly breezes. Some bright or sunny spells, but rather cloudy in the main, with some showers about, some of these heavy, especially in western areas. Outlook Thursday night will be quite cold with temperatures falling to between 3 and 7 degrees. It will be coolest in the west of the country, where some grass frost is likely. Some showers will develop along the west coast but for much of the country it will be dry. Friday will be a cool and fresh day with temperatures of only 13 to 16 degrees, and it will be warmest in the southeast. There will be a good deal of dry weather with bright spells. Some showers will develop at times along coastal areas in the fresh northerly winds. A little milder on Friday night with lows of 6 to 9 degrees. However later in the night rain will move into parts of the northeast. At the moment it looks like Saturday will start wet and windy for much of Ulster, Connacht and Leinster with heavy falls of rain. It will feel quite cold with temperatures of only 10 to 13 degrees. There will be further spells of rain overnight on Saturday and through Sunday with a milder southerly airflow developing on Sunday. This will raise temperatures to the mid teens. The early of days next week look quite changeable with spells of rain.
