National Institute of Speech and Hearing (NISH) is starting a new 6-month advanced Post Graduate Certificate course in Auditory Verbal Therapy (PGCAVT) for qualified Audiologists, Speech Therapists and Special Educators. Those who complete the course successfully will be qualified to work with deaf children having cochlear implants. The course will be run as per the syllabus prescribed by Rehabilitation Council of India. Applications are invited from eligible candidates. The applicants should have BASLP or B.Ed (HI). Graduates with DTY(HI) and having at least 4 years experience in teaching young deaf children may also apply. The applicants should have valid RCI registration. The duration of the course is 6 months. Application form and prospectus may be downloaded from nish.ac.in. The completed application form along with a registration fee of Rs 500 should be sent to the Executive Director, National Institute of Speech and Hearing, Karimanal PO, Akkulam, Trivandrum – 695583 on or October 2014. Please mark on the cover ‘AVT Course Application’. The applicants may before 31st also send in filled application form as email to [email protected] and the fees may be remitted electronically.
