National Jewish Health could be chosen as a center to study the effects of burn pits on Iraq and Afghanistan veterans. New proposed legislation called “Helping Veterans Exposed to Toxic Chemicals Act” would generate $30 million per year for five years to research the respiratory health concerns our veterans face due to the toxic chemicals generated in open-air fires the military used to incinerate waste.
