National Security Agency NSA website temporarily shuts down The National Security Agency’s NSA website went offline on Friday evening. The NSA website “Is it down right now” confirmed that the NSA website has been inaccessible for at least 6 hours The NSA’s public-facing Web site has been down for several hours Friday, with some speculating that the outage is due to a denial-of-service attack meant to protest the agency’s surveillance programs. It’s not clear, however, what the cause is. Russia Today pointed to a couple of tweets from Twitter users that it said were “loosely affiliated” with the hacking collective Anonymous, saying the tweets suggested the group was responsible.
