National Treasurer of the New PDP Resigned after recieving N2.5 Billion from Presidency. =============== =============== === THE National Treasurer of the New PDP, Alhaji Tanko Ishiaku Gwamna on Sunday announced his resignation from the national working committee of the parallel faction within the ruling party. In a statement he personally signed, Gwamna said his decision was arrived at after a careful study of the unfolding events in the polity and a deep sober reflection of the consequences of the outcome of such impasse on the party. He said, "As a lover of democracy, I am of the belief that the current impasse will not augur well for the unity, peace, progress and prosperity of our great party in particular, and the country in general," But contraty to the reason given by Gwamna for his resignation, a source in Aso Villa revealed that, Gwamma has been under pressure from presidecy to resign his position, and he finally yielded after recieving N2.5 billion offered him.
