Native American spirituality is very deep and profound. It has by far survived the test of time. The wisdom of the elders is pertinent to the times in which we are now living. Had the rest of the world lived according to our Native ancestors philosophy, as the Earth Keepers, we might not be facing the dreadful problems that now assail us in the ways of pollution, climate change and plundering of the Earths natural resources. Our Native ancestors LIVED and BREATHED their spirituality every day. Our ancestors taught us that the Earth is our Mother. The Earth provides for us all of the materials needed to sustain our bodies (as a true mother does for her child) and has worked meticulously to form each and every one of us. We are now living in very turbulent and trying days and we owe a great and tremendous debt of gratitude to our Native ancestors for their fore bearings and the many wrong doings inflicted upon them. We must continue to honor the spirituality and the teachings of our Native Ancestors and keep their spirits alive. Through their resilience and their raw gut courage and strength to survive, we HAVE survived. For them and to them, I am most grateful...... There are many countless, different and unique Native tribes, each having their own cultures, languages, sacred stories, and spiritual ceremonies and teachings. But, as a whole Nation, they all shared the same wisdom of being aware of connections to the Universe, and not only to each other but also to the earth and skies, the trees and rocks, and the animals and plants. They taught us, and continue to teach us today, to walk lightly upon the Earth, and to live in balance and in harmony with our Mother Earth every day. Our Ancestors were profoundly spiritual people and they have suffered greatly. All people can learn so much about the real meaning of Honor and Truth from our very own Native ancestors. To those who are willing to honor and recognize their teachings and their spirituality, and try to live even just it a part of in their own daily lives, they can only move forward in love.
