Nature Awareness 7/20/2014 - Komodo Dragon Komodo dragons are a large species of lizard found within the Indonesian islands. They grow to approximately three meters in length and can weigh up to 150+ pounds. They take 8-9 years to fully mature but can live to be 30 years old or older. Watching Komodo dragons defend their territory, hunt, or fight with one another is definitely something to behold. They are fearless and ruthless and very powerful. As for sensory awareness, these animals do not have very good hearing but navigate primarily by smell and through special taste receptors and with their forked tongue. It is this type of tasting and tongue that has given the Komodo dragon and its totem people the reputation for having a sharp tongue. If you choose to work with the Komodo Dragon, it might be wise to watch your words. Fearlessness and aggression are standard traits in the Komodo dragon, and people working with this energy can benefit. Fearlessness helps one get a lot accomplished; a lot of ground along lifes path can be covered quickly and efficiently with this trait.
