Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation to acquire 43 new bazaar plots from Cidco The Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) is in the process of obtaining 43 new daily bazaar plots. These are in addition to the earlier ones it has got from the City and Industrial Development Corporation (Cidco). The plots are required to implement the National Policy on Urban Street Vendors 2009. Earlier, Cidco had transferred 45 plots, said an official from the civic body. (See Box) The National Policy on Urban Street Vendors is actively under consideration and is likely to be implemented after the formation of the new government. The NMMC will then award the work to the company that has been finalized. The firm will conduct the survey and issue the licence by way of a smart card. The two nodes of Koparkhairane and Nerul have got the maximum number of plots while Vashi and Belapur have the least. Plots can be made available as per their availability in the nodes, said a Cidco official. Source: Times of India
