Navjot Singh My letter to HEALTH MINISTER OF INDIA Goodmorning Sir. I am a Dental Surgeon from Jammu and kashmir.. Sir i just got 1 marks less than my counterparts who got M.B.B.S during medical entrance. Well we did not know that we will b subjected to hell lot of torture and we would have to feel extremely helpless. I want your kind attention to atleast read this- and help us in which ever way you can.- 1. There are no jobs in our field and unemployment is on super- rise. Well that is OK - you will say - its a general problem of India. Morethan 290 dental colleges are in India- it is a subject of CBI inquiry as who opened these colleges when the country doesnt have jobs to absorb them.... 2. The officials in DCI and top business nexus have opened colleges as easy as a fruit shop and dental graduates of private colleges are piling up. This is the biggest reason of our plight. Well if u r rich in India- u can become a doctor by just paying 10 to 15 lakh bucks and sit with those who burn there midnight fuel and are just fed with the lolly-pop of being CREAM. 3. We at Govt. colleges are not given good academic merit as compared to private ones- which leaves us in further chaos in Jobs(psc) and every other place. Being a hard-worker is no longer fruitful . Nobody surveys about it and every college has different criteria of giving merit.. Some even say- pay more and get more... 4.Unbiased Institutions like Army-( Army Dental Corps ) shorlist dental doctors on basis of merit and Can u beleive 90 % of shortlisted candidates are from private colleges. We are not found fit to serve our nation just because we studied during entrance exam and they paid. *wow* 5. As a denizen of Jammu and Kashmir - i am not eligible for All India PG exam as J&k is exempted from that. Well for others it doesnt matter but we do not have enough seats in state - just 8 seats in open merit that too in GDC sringar only... 1500 graduates are there and 400 pour in every year. And can u believe those who studied in private colleges outside state are Eligible? . We can not even study further just because we studied during entrance and they paid.... *wow* 6. Last but not least- we reach in such a dead end that we can not switch to any other future option viz. there are scores of streams n subjects in Civil Services exams but only Dental Sciences did not find any place when medical science and veterinary sciences are also there. Why such partiality sir? Every student and intellectual of India wakes up with a dream every morning - tell me sir- what should we do? We have even lost our dreams sir. WE CAN NOT STUDY FURTHER for MDS(being from J&K); WE CANNOT JOIN ARMY (being from Govt. colleges), WE CAN NOT DO CIVIL SERVICES(dental sciences not included in upsc), WE CAN NOT DO JOBS( as govt. doesnt need dentists and whatsoever minimum if notified- good merit holders who paid more will be selected)...... Thank you sir - if you read this but i also know you can not amend the system overnight... Sadly- I am still proud of being an INDIAN and i ask you one last question Kya Hamarey b Achhey Din Kabi Aayeingey? DR. NAVJOT SINGH SASAN JAMMU. (j&k) (9419154902) UNFORTUNTELY - a Govt. College Passout and having UNRESERVED Category. UNFORTUNATE DENTIST.
