Near midnight ranting time! Currently pissing me off is the notion of tradition. The Oxford English Dictionary describes it as: a long-established custom or belief that has been passed on from one generation to another. - Long-established; assuming at least a couple of decades - Custom; the same mannerism or action carried out over and over?! - Belief; actually requires believing in something! When do we go from passing down a staunch belief to passing down a watered down version of belief replaced by apathy of “My parents did it so I will too”? Replacing a long-established custom or belief that has been passed on from one generation to another with long-established routine or apathetic half-belief that has been passed on from one generation to another… Thus somewhat negating the entire definition of; or meaning of TRADITION?! To the point where I feel like people should either re-ignite the old tradition and actually become traditionAL OR … create their own new one? RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
