Nearly 80% of residents in Tewkesbury Borough have now responded - TopicsExpress

Nearly 80% of residents in Tewkesbury Borough have now responded to the council’s annual canvass to ensure the electoral register is up to date. The council sent out electoral registration forms to households in early October and reminders in early November. To ensure as many people register as possible, legislation now requires the council to employ canvassers during December and January to visit those properties which have not yet returned their form. The annual canvass is important because if you are not on the register then you will lose your say in choosing the people to represent you, including at next year’s European Parliamentary Election. Your credit score may also be affected if you are not registered at your current address and you may have difficulty obtaining credit or opening a bank account. To avoid a visit from a canvasser , please return your form to the council now. If you are not on the electoral register, you will not be able to vote and may be refused credit in shops etc. Residents who haven’t received a form should contact the council’s Election team immediately on 01684 272025
