Nearly a thousand people – including trade union members, human rights activists and the local Muslim community – took part in a “Picketing for Palestine” event held in Port Elizabeth yesterday. Those who attended the two-hour picket were dressed mostly in black and red, and waved flags, held banners and chanted and sang songs outside the SABC offices in Parsons Hill to show their support to the people of Gaza. They later handed over a memorandum detailing their demands to Nelson Mandela Bay municipal spokesman Roland Williams. Read the full story in Weekend Post tomorrow.
