Need help. My husband has surgery 4 months ago and was in a cast for 8 weeks, then wheelchair for 4 and now air cast for 6. He is on steroids for another medical condition and his profile has been strict. He cant stand, walk, no weight bearing, no lifting, pushing, pulling or running. So he with no pt and the steroids has gained 7% ^weight standards. In 8 weeks after his physical therapy they are going to start a med-board. His command is asking for a weight chapter (this is his 2nd time Due to same issue of 1% after surgery and the immobility/steroids). We have had his civilian dr write a letter stating why he has gained weight. The weight chapter will be processed in as little as 4 weeks! Making med board impossible. Please any help would be so greatly appreciated. We dont know what to do.he is a good soldier with a spotless record. Only issue has been the above weight due to immobility/ steroid combination. Once hes cleared to do pt it all drops off and he regains muscle and is fit.
