Need some advice from the photography crowd. I need to do something with this passion. I have inklings toward photojournalism and fine art photography (not that the two are mutually exclusive). Im more and more interested in capturing people in their environment. In some ways Im drawn to some schooling as I feel like there are still some gaps in my knowledge and most certainly in my networking. I could go for a masters in fine art or change my minor in journalism (I have a BA in geography) into a full blown degree with an emphasis on the photo end. They both hold some allure. But school is just getting more expensive all of the time, and I sort of lack a real goal with my work. I mostly just like wandering around and capturing what I see. The BA would certainly be cheaper (I could proably do it in state) and still give me access to a darkroom/digital studio and photo classes to fill in the gaps. Id also probably benefit from some additional journalism background. Id also probably have to do an internship...and between that and getting back in school, it would probably provide some networking. Not sure Id want to jump back in with college freshmen though.
