Need some advice on taking a family vacation. We had decided that next year is the year that we are taking THE vacation...you know, Disney World. I have been before and Ill admit, loved it when I was a youngster. The reality is that while Im sure Disney is lots of fun, its also very expensive, VERY crowded, and a little on the commercial side for my taste. I have two little boys (4 and 6) who have adventurous and fun-loving souls. They spend their spare time hunting for cicada shells, collecting interesting leaves/rocks/seeds, and just running and playing - I guess like most little boys do! In my soul I feel like Disney is not going to be the be-all end-all for them, and Im concerned about how stressful it would be with the crowds, lines, sore feet, etc. Im thinking perhaps a different adventure is in our future. Im thinking Yosemite, Yellowstone, or some place less commercial, but still kid friendly. Thoughts? Input? What would you do? Where would you go?
