Negligence of JNV management leaves Class XII students at high sea Andaman Sheekha No Physics teacher for students of Jawahar Navodya Vidyalaya Staff Correspondent Port Blair, Sep 30: Jawahar Navodya Vidyalaya (JNV), Panchwati one of the premiere institutions of the these Islands, is lacking a Post Graduate Teacher in Physics for teaching the students of Sr. Secondary Level. JNV is known for its discipline and good results all over the country and many ex-students of the school are working at prominent positions of well reputed organizations today. But it seems that things will be difficult for Class XII students of JNV, Panchawati, this year. In Andaman and Nicobar Islands, JNV is another name for the school of the talented folks and the parents send their wards away from them to a residential school just because they believe in the management of the school will provide them with their best. But non availability of a physics teacher for their children of senior classes has disappointed parents this year. JNV being a residential school does not allow students to move out of the campus for tuitions and the students of the school are totally dependent on their subject teachers for all kinds of help. It is reported that the school is lacking PGT Physics teacher even after half of the session is already over and the CBSE board exams are just few months away. The students this year are facing a lot of difficulties and this might show up on their results if a permanent physics teacher is not posted soon. Talking to Andaman Sheekha some parents alleged that now the Principal has advised the students of Class XII to take one month leave from school and take private tuition in Physics. “Students have been given another option of paying fees for a private Physics tutor, whom the school may hire. This is gross violation of rules and regulations of JNV,” said an angry parent. In any case students of JNV are going to suffer heavily this year as in both the cases students won’t get proper guidance and time to study the subject. Andaman Sheekha tried up the number 03192-279092 several times in order to speak to the principal of the school but surprisingly no one picked up the call. The Administration must intervene into this matter and ask the management of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Samity, Hydrabad to provide a well qualified teacher for JNV Panchawati as soon as possible.
