Negotiation Update #11 As we reported last night in Negotiation Update #10, the Company presented to your Union bargaining committee its “Best and Final” economic proposal for a new collective bargaining agreement yesterday evening. Your Union bargaining committee told the Company that its “Best and Final” proposal fails to meet the just expectations of the members of Local 15009 for a fair, reasonable, and equitable contract. The Company’s “Best and Final” proposal was rejected by the Union bargaining committee. Your Union bargaining committee asked the Company last night to reconsider its “Best and Final” economic proposal and to return to the bargaining table today with a revised offer. We informed the Company that their wage proposal fell short and that their proposal to exclude new hired employees from the Defined Benefit Plan was not acceptable. The Company responded today. They informed the Union bargaining committee that the proposal it made last night was its Best and Final offer for a new contract and that it would not be changed. Upon that statement being made by the Company, negotiations broke off. A Summary of the Company’s Best and Final Offer is being prepared by the Union. A copy of the Union’s Summary along with a copy of all of the proposed contract language changes will be distributed to each Local 15009 member this week. A meeting to discuss the Company’s Best and Final Offer will be held on: Saturday, February 1, 2014 2:00 p.m. Herrin Civic Center 101 South 16th Street Herrin, Illinois A ratification vote will occur on February 3, 2014 at the plant at S33 between the hours of 6:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. A majority of those who vote will determine the outcome of the vote. The members of Local 15009 should continue to report to work. Please read the Union’s Summary of General Dynamics’ Best and Final offer when you get your copy this week. Plan to attend the explanation meeting on Saturday, February 1, 2014. Then, cast your vote whether to accept the Company’s Best and Final offer in the ratification vote which will be held on February 3, 2014 at S33.
