Neighbor + Neighbor The Outreach Commission is excited to announce that our church will begin an exciting new project this February. On the last Wednesday of every month, Saint Martins will open the doors of our church to welcome those in need in for a hot meal. These meals are potluck with an entree’ provided for the February meal—Wednesday, February 26th at 6pm in Miles Hall. The difference in this project and a standard meal service is that we will all break bread together as a congregation and a community. We have seen the relationships that have been made and testified to by our congregation members who have participated in the Community of Faith Mission Winter Shelters, so we thought- why only once a year? With this in mind, we will reach out the local social services agencies, the neighborhood schools, and neighborhood churches to invite those who are in need to simply come by and sit down to a potluck meal at Saint Martins. For this project to work, there is one essential ingredient. That ingredient is not a spice or a dish (but those are important to a meal!)- but the most important thing is YOU. This is simply because building relationships is the way we live into our call as Christians and there is no better way to build relationships in a community than by sharing meals! Please come be a neighbor and let’s break some bread.
