Neraida – The First Greek Floating Museum Neraida (Fairy), the legendary passenger vessel of the John Latsis family will be transformed into the first Greek Floating Museum. A monument of the Greek coastal shipping history, an impressive sample of an old hull’s restoration and a business history museum of her master, Neraida will embark on her new journeys on September 14, following the trail of her first itinerary from the island of Spetses to Aegina. The vessel will anchor for three days in each destination port, so that visitors, students, locals and tourists may have the chance to visit it. The “Neraida” was purchased by John Latsis by the end of 1949 and boosted his coastal shipping activity, bringing, at the same time, a flavor of comfort and luxury to the – until then – neglected Greek coastal shipping sector. She traveled along with the visitors of the Argosaronic islands for almost 25 years. It is interesting to note that vessel featured in the renowned film " The Boy on a Dolphin," (1957) starring Sophia Loren.
