Nessa put the tent up in the backyard in preparation for the "Extreme Supermoon" this weekend. Supermoons are what it’s called when the moon is at its closest perigee to the Earth. This weekend, June 22nd and 23rd, the moon will be closer to the Earth than at any other time in 2013, so it will make the moon appear MUCH larger than usual (hence "extreme"). Adding to the festivities, this supermoon should coincide with the mating of the horseshoe crabs here on our little piece of the Bay. Our household is planning on making the most of these 2 events with hiking, beach watching and camping. (OK, no camping for me.)
