Net Neutrality: the network is neutral. It isnt preferring this or degrading that. It is just forwarding the bits. My favorite way of correcting this misconception is that Net Neutrality is not about treating all packets equally, its about not treating them at all. For the first three decades of the Internet, equipment lacked the brain power to peek inside the packet and quickly analyze them -- they just read a few bytes of header and forwarded the data on to the next hop. The net absolutely flourished. That neutrality is what were trying to preserve.
