Never an end of apples. In this world of space and time, atoms and stars, everything has its limit. The entire Earth has only so many square miles of land. The entire Milky Way Galaxy has only so many stars. Each person alive has only so many hairs, only so many atoms in his body. The ordinary word used to describe this quality of things is "finite." It means, "has a limit, of some sort." The opposite of "finite" is "infinite," which means "has no limit." That word, infinite, certainly exists and is bandied about carelessly by many people. But does it have a real meaning? In this world, in this entire universe (apparently), nothing is infinite. So why should this word even exist? In fact, however, there is at least one thing which is infinite, and it is inside of you, inside of me. It is the concept of "number." There can be no largest number, for you can add "one" to any number, ANY NUMBER, and get a larger number. The numbers are limitless. Infinite. Pero, ¿tiene un significado verdadero? En este mundo, en todo este universo aparentemente, nada es infinito. ¿Por qué debe existir siquiera esta palabra? En realidad, sin embargo, hay por lo menos una cosa que es verdaderamente infinita, y está dentro de ti, y de mi. Es el concepto de "número." No puede haber un número máximo, porque siempre se puede sumar "uno" a cualquier número, CUALQUIER NÚMERO, y conseguir así un número más grande. Los números no tienen límite. Son infinitos.
